I got a twenty year old set of Cragar Star wire wheels. They cleaned up great, with new center caps and lug nuts, they almost look new.

I had to mount a bearing inside the end of the steering tube for the main shaft to ride in. It's held in place with a "C" clip. A universal joint connects it to the rest of the steering shaft.

Seven inches were taken out of the length of the Olds column. It,s also being shaved of its column shifter and gear indicator.

5/23/07 I made the step notches from 2\'\' X 3\" tubing on the bench, then welded them to the inside of the frame to gain some rear end clearance.

I\'ve been building engine mounts like this for years. It\'s simple and functional. You can also see the bolt in trans mount we made that bolts to the factory crossmember.

It\'s not really going to have 32\" rims.... I thought I was funny for a moment......... this is the true ride height, 5\" from the floor to the rocker. I will be running some sort of 15\'\' wheel with 205/70/15 tires.
